Capricorn

December 22nd - January 20th

Capricorns are an Earth Sign and like the other two Earth Signs, Taurus and Virgo they are practical. At times they can appear cold and hard, even mercenary, this is due to the fact the majority of Capricorns have a big problem with showing emotions. In extreme cases they can be seen as almost Jeckell and Hyde characters. But on the whole all Capricorns are very serious. They like to associate themselves with the glitz and glamour of life, and usually in an unsubtle way they will name drop at every opportunity. Capricorn women tend to have problems where their natural emotional flow is concerned. They can become incredibly depressed and have thoughts of suicide in extreme cases. But when they're up they want to enjoy life to the full. In reality Capricorns are looking for a serious, stable relationship or nothing at all. They see a relationship as a true partnership that gives them security and is in some cases almost a business arrangement. But unfortunately they very rarely go for the easy option of a partner that is good and loyal to them. They too need a relationship with ups and downs. No plain sailing here. Capricorn men are much stronger in the character stakes and can be incredibly mercenary. Looking out for number one is of prime importance. They like to put on the air that they are better off than in fact they are and in doing so can get themselves into debt. Capricorn women aren't as bad but because of their emotional vulnerability they are more likely to be the victims of shysters. But all you men out there keep a watchful eye if you start dating a Capricorn because they can leave you cold.

All Capricorns have a strong determination to get to where they want to be and it's a shame if a Capricorn doesn't succeed in life. If you're out there looking for a placid Capricorn male or female, good luck! Very few of them exist as on the whole they enjoy a heated debate and like getting their own way, power means a lot to them. This doesn't mean to say that all is bad with Capricorn; there are plenty of positives to look for. On the whole they are very stable and they're usually intelligent and need the security of a long lasting relationship. If the Capricorn female does not find herself in a secure relationship, she will go in the extreme direction of a successful career and become hardened to personal contact, yet still craving it. This brings out the more melancholy side of our Capricorn and the mood swings become more extreme.

Capricorns do not take easily to strangers; they can be very sociable with their close friends but appear withdrawn to others. Like Scorpios, if they let you into their close circle of friends they do expect a lot from you. And in the case of the Capricorn female you will see these incredible bouts of emotion washing over them. These ambitious and sometimes self-centred Capricorns can actually be fun to be with as they can have a very dry, unorthodox sense of humour. You will very rarely find a Capricorn doing manual work as a profession; they tend to prefer the clean cut, white collar type of career where hopefully they can gain recognition and power. If you find yourself in a long term relationship with a Capricorn be prepared for it to feel more like a partnership, which can be very beneficial to the two of you, but at times lacking in emotional fulfillment. Health wise Capricorns can suffer with problems usually with their bones or joints. They can have problem with rheumatism, especially in the knee and with calcium deficiencies or perversely excessive calcium.
